Interested in a career in tool & die? Ranger Die is seeking a Machinist to join the team on night shift. The primary function of the Machinist is to machine die components to specification for the completion of die builds. This entry level position is a great starting point for anyone interested in a career in Tool & Die. New hires are eligible and encouraged to apply to the apprenticeship program for Tool and Die Makers after 90 days of employment. Ranger's night shift is from 4:15 pm to 3:00 am Monday through Thursday, with overtime sometimes available as extended shifts (no Friday work). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Accurately follow the work instructions of the Die Maker; ask questions if needed. Run manual machines including grinders, drill presses, mills, etc. Complete work within timelines supplied. Provide management with accurate assessments of the status of assigned tasks; proactively communicate any problems that would prevent the normal completion of duties or contribute to a service failure. Complete all work within specifications, using correct supplies and materials. Mark materials with accurate numbers / specifications as instructed. Work to control scrap/waste of materials and supplies; follow Ranger procedure for documenting scrap material. Assist with and learn Ranger Die's procedures for job documentation. Maintain the work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations . Complete other duties or tasks as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education - High school diploma or equivalent Experience - none required; previous experience in manufacturing preferred License(s)/Registration(s)/Certification(s) - must be able to successfully complete training to receive permits for both forklifts and overhead cranes Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - basic math skills; ability to read and write English; ability to judge spatial relationships and use logic (common sense); analytical skills; mechanical inclination; ability to work well with minimal direct supervision, ability to work well with others; effective time management skills Ranger Die offers a benefit package for eligible full time employees that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; flexible spending account; 401k; and paid time off.
