Abide by the Standard of Conduct/Code of Ethics and Statement of Confidentially. ** $500 HIRING BONUS AND $500 RETENTION BONUS! ** Employment-Related Requirements Employment is contingent upon enrollment in State of Oregon Central Background Registry. **Enrollment in the Central Background Registry is beneficial if you are considering working with children in the State of Oregon, since it will be required before you can start a position. Enrollment is free and it is recommended that you start now as the process can take time. Start enrollment online at: Department of Education - Early Learning Division - Office of Child Care (state.or.us) Essential Job Responsibilities: Receive and verify accounting records, invoices, expense receipts and other financial documents and office records for accuracy. Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to funding and allocation plans and procedures. Facilitate payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, vendor setup, reviewing purchase orders and resolving discrepancies. Reconcile monthly statements and transactions. Assist with benefit enrollment and employee relations, including hire, rehire, onboarding, and employee engagement. Copy, scan, file, and store accounting, vendor, inventory, and HR documents. Manage and maintain inventory records and assets. Assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks. Other related duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required Significant experience with basic bookkeeping procedures and financial transactions. Good knowledge of financial regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Strong understanding in MS Office, especially Excel and databases, knowledge of Sage Intaact is a plus Organize work and correctly complete tasks to meet required deadlines. Registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division. Education/Experience Required high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred degree in accounting, business, or related field with 3 years relevant hands-on accounting experience.
