Property retail shop and hotel discounts $500 referral bonus for referring new employees to The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club What we ask: Consistently provide professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly service Promote and follow LJBTC, Inc's Signature Service standards and requirements to ensure a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in satisfied and loyal members and guests Schedule: Part Time Seasonal Must be available Monday-Friday Monday-12pm-6pm Tuesday-8am-2pm Wednesday-12pm-6pm Thursday-8am-2pm Friday-3pm-9pm Pay: $18/hour SUMMARY Assists the Children's Activities Director with the coordination and implementation of the Club's summer activity programs available to children of members and apartment guests. Promotes and follows LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Children's Activities Director in the management and supervision of children ages 3-10 participating in various activities. Confers with parents regarding upcoming events and activities. Arranges medical attention for sick or injured children in accordance with parental and/or company instructions. Sets up for activities and events as needed. Provides quality service to guests that meets or exceeds expectations. Other duties may be assigned. OUTCOME The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club Inc. operates in a very family-oriented environment. Primarily during the summer months and holiday periods, the Club attracts a high volume of children. A solid activities program for these children is therefore imperative and limits the amount of abuse to certain areas of the property. The Children's Activities Assistant will create positive member and guest impressions of the total organization by assisting with the implementation of a variety of activities for the children which are fun, creative, active and cost-effective. Satisfied children make satisfied parents, as well as potential future members and apartment guests. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent in education or related industry required (or in process of obtaining teaching credential); or minimum of two years related experience and/or training in equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in English before groups of children, and one-on-one with employees, members and guests. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS All employees in this position must obtain and maintain current CPR & First Aid Training Card. Training will be supplied by the company. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. INTERACTION While performing the duties of this job, the employee will interact frequently with the adult members and apartment guests, as well as the children of members and apartment guests. This employee will also interact frequently with the membership services, front desk staff, catering staff and beach crew members, as well as occasional interaction with the housekeeping and engineering staffs. The employee must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with these and other designated internal and external customers. SCHEDULING This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
