Salary: $20/Hour Part Time Position - Up to 30 Hours per week Job Title: Business & Community Development Intern Department: Member Services Reports To: Business Development Director Pay Range: $20/Hour Classifications: Non-Bargaining Unit Status: Hourly This position has direct reports: No CORE employees must work safely in accordance with regulatory standards and requirements. Position Summary We are looking for a motivated intern with a passion for the local business community and community relations, who is ready to gain a deeper understanding of economic development. Under the supervision of our staff, the Business & Community Development Intern can expect to participate in the preparation community outreach, community and business events, industry, and demographic analysis, and assist with other business & community development related activities. To be a strong candidate for this internship, you should be a motivated team player with a positive attitude who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn. Intern Responsibilities: Learning how to work as part of the Business & Community Development team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company and member base. Assisting with event coordination, research, data entry, recording and maintaining accurate and complete data. Working with CORE's NISC / Salesforce software. Along with other members of the team, represent CORE by participating in community events on weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity. Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about business development and external outreach. Intern Requirements: Must be a recent graduate or current student enrolled in college, with a focus on business or public administration. Preference made for junior or senior year students. GPA of 3.0 or higher. Prefer experience in public affairs, community outreach, or volunteerism. Representing school to potential students or businesses will suffice. Integrity: Exhibits a high degree of integrity and honesty . Diplomacy: Able to use appropriate diplomacy and tact with employees, members, customers, and other contacts. Ability to effectively read, write and speak the English language to communicate in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner. Ability to quickly learn Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook andExcel Strong verbal and written communication skills. High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility. Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible. Physical Requirements Medium work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Working Conditions The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities primarily occur inside.
