Description:

The Supervisor of ES/ACCESS will hold supervisory duties within the Assessment and Emergency Service units, with primary reporting to the Director of MH/SUD. As part of supervisory position, the ES/ACCESS Supervisor would be fully responsible for the supervision and management of the ES and ACCESS team members. The supervisor would primarily be responsible for the development, management and implementation of the ACCESS and ES program. The supervisor would conduct the audits on charts, complete monthly and yearly reports to the State (including the TDO and ECO exception reports), monthly reports to the AHCSB Board of Directors, be responsible for the on-call rotation schedule ( weekdays and weekends), budget the SARPOS funds, and attend the ES Council meetings and UMT meetings. The supervisor can attend additional trainings as needed and will train team members. The supervisor will work collaboratively across disciplines and develop further skills at management and clinical treatment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: · Advanced knowledge of treating serious mental illnesses and substance use disorders, and the best practices for providing crisis intervention and emergency services. · Community resources, and maintaining positive interagency relationships with related community service providers. · Medicaid and DBHDS licensure and other regulatory requirements. · Computer applications, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic office equipment to include fax, scanner, copier, and telephone. · DSM-V diagnostic criteria · Virginia Mental Health Laws regarding the voluntary/involuntary/mandatory outpatient treatment process. · SAPT Block Grant requirements for provision of substance abuse treatment to priority populations; · Legal rights including confidentiality of records, consumer rights, etc.; · Time management system to coordinate field and office responsibilities; Virginia Mental Health Laws regarding the voluntary/involuntary/mandatory outpatient treatment process. Consumer data collection/dissemination to record progress; Legal rights including confidentiality of records, consumer rights, etc.; Time management system to coordinate field and office responsibilities; Case documentation; Life safety codes/regulations to insure the welfare of residents Appropriate mental health interventions; Training strategies Skills In: · Possess skills in supervision and management. · Program development, effective deployment of staff resources, budget planning and processes, conflict management, problem-solving, negotiating, and public relations. · Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills · Assessing clinical needs, developing corresponding treatment plan and making appropriate referrals · Assessing/assembling consumer data for admission and on-going evaluations; · Motivational Enhancement, Cognitive Behavioral and other therapies · Providing brief, solution focused counseling · Organizing/coordinating/scheduling services with consumers, other agencies, office staff, vendors, etc.; Ability To: Communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, their families, agency representatives, etc. Collaborate with community partners; Maintain required confidentiality; Accurately complete all record requirements and forms, etc. as required by AHCS policy within designated time frame; Set own schedule to complete required duties; and Maintain flexible schedule. Work independently and be self-directive Make clinically sound decisions and respond to multiple demands for crisis interventions and de-escalation strategies Education: Master's Degree in Human Services field or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required) Experience: C linical mental health and/or substance abuse treatment experience (required); At least one year of clinical experience working with severely mentally ill, intellectually disabled, and/or substance dependent populations (required) OR Registered Nurse in Virginia with 5 years' experience working in behavioral health. Supervisory experience preferred Licensure/Certifications: LPC or LCSW(required); Valid Driver's License (required)
