Watch this: We Are Didion. - YouTube Why our work matters: https://youtu.be/fuwPwuyeRmk POSITION SUMMARY: The Rolling Stock Mechanic is a hands-on position that ensures the safe and efficient utilization of all Rolling Stock and Heavy Equipment. This position serves a critical role to the Construction, Millwright and Production Teams by ensuring equipment needed across all Didion Facilities is operating safely and correctly. RESPONSIBILITIES: Diligently endeavor to add value to the organization, the department, and the team by performing all tasks required to support the Production and Construction groups in the efficient operation of Rolling Stock and Heavy Equipment. Efficiently diagnoses equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties, makes repairs and adjustments in order to achieve optimum equipment up-time. Ensures production and construction schedule needs are met through efficient and effective diagnosis, repair and proactive maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. Responsible to maintain all work orders, PO's and accurately makes updates to the computerized maintenance software system (MAPCON). Shop planning and scheduling. Continuously seek out additional value-add opportunities for the organization. Implement and follow a rigorous PM program Where required, ensure fleet is always in DOT compliance Meet with vendors or suppliers to discuss products used in repair work. Monitor part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions. REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent experience is desired. Associates degree (or equivalent technical education) in related field highly desired. 10 years of experience as a mechanic working in a related field. Steadfast adherence to all safety procedures at all times. A positive, proactive demeanor resulting in superior teamwork and collaboration with team members while demonstrating a commitment to excellence. Prior heavy equipment maintenance experience is preferred, including: Air control valves, Pneumatics, Electrical wiring and trailer lights, Brake systems, Chassis, DOT inspections, Hydraulic Systems, Industrial Forklift Maintenance, Rough Terrain Crane Maintenance Excellent mechanical aptitude. Welding skills, aluminum and steel. Strong diagnostic skills (hands-on preferred). Class A CDL preferred Ability to problem-solve and develop creative solutions. Ability to operate a computer to enter work orders, parts requests, and shop activities Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Must have own tools to perform the duties required.
