Designer Engineer II/III Ankeny, Iowa - Full Time Productive Resources ( www.pr-engservices.com ) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Ankeny, Iowa. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will plan, coordinate, and perform the development, test and/or analysis of new concepts and designs for a significant portion or sub-system of a major and diverse project using preferred 3-Dimensional (3D) Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool. Is involved in cross functional teams. This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization. Duties: Plan, coordinate and perform development of new concepts and 3D designs for a significant portion of a major project. Exhibit detailed knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Standards and can apply it to many varied situations. Perform as expert user of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) system. Able to evaluate new updates and tools. May work independently on complex systems such as Industrial Design of a product involving conflicting design requirements. May provide document maintenance, be responsible for placement and routing of electronic wiring routings, compliant with routing quality and compliance with engineering standards. Assist in developing and approving new Top-Down modeling standards & design practices. Work with cross functional team to design and evaluate new components and systems. Requirements: Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools. Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners. Knowledge in engineering principles, theory, and practice as well as product knowledge. Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge. Understanding of specification systems and decision release systems. Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others. Knowledge of industry standards for dimension and tolerancing, weld symbols, etc. Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit. Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors. Knowledge of the Product Delivery Process and Technology Development process. Part modeling experience. Degree in an Engineering/Technology, Drafting or Design, or equivalent experience.
