The Compliance Analyst is responsible for operational support duties of the Compliance department by assisting the Chief Compliance Officer as directed. This role will assist in education and assisting our employees to meet our compliance responsibilities. Essential Functions Develop a strong working knowledge of banking laws and regulations Develop systemic and automated testing programs for compliance related risks and controls through the Bank; maintain and execute testing programs on a regular basis Develop queries and pulls account samples to be used in account testing Perform targeted compliance analysis and reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and produce accurate and reliable information for decision making and to support monitoring activities Review consumer products, internal processes, policies and procedures, marketing programs, advertising materials, and other consumer communications from a consumer perspective to identify areas of potential consumer harm or confusion Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies Report to the Chief Compliance Officer on any suspect violations of law, regulations, or non-compliance to Bank policy and take responsibility to ensure resolution Prepare and conduct training in each of the areas of responsibility as needed Maintain compliance related policies and procedures to ensure continued applicability and completeness Present a professional image in dealing with examiners, interdepartmental and external representatives Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Skills and Abilities Direct experience with regulators, auditors, and other consultants in the industry Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone Ability to remain flexible to adapt to changes in the work environment Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Ability to work with co-workers, customers, and outside agencies professionally and tactfully Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy Exhibit a professional, business-like demeanor Accurate typing skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, and e-mail Education High School Diploma or GED required, College degree in business related field or equivalent experience Two to three years of compliance experience in banking, preferred Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans.
