Job Description Title: Shipping Specialist Department: Production Manager: Materials Manager Responsible for: No direct reports Pay Status: FT Hourly Compensation : Hourly Job Summary: Seaway Manufacturing, a local manufacturer of replacement windows and patio rooms, is accepting applications for a Non-CDL OTR driver / warehouse/ production scheduling & support. This multi-faceted position will involve assisting with out-of-town deliveries as well as production scheduling needs and loading and unloading of trucks. Designated routes average 3-4 days. Home weekends. 1-year OTR experience required with clean driving record. Must be able to meet DOT physical requirements. Company offers excellent benefit package including health, dental, vision, and 401K. Overview Will properly and efficiently load and tie down end product and keep warehouse operating efficiently. Operates company vehicle for the delivery of end product to dealers throughout the Company's operating area. Duties/Abilities: Unload and stage product from window buggy's in warehouse for loading. Lead the loading and tie down of end product. Needs to use independent thought and judgement in the organizing and securing of product to eliminate damage. Must be able to guide additional support personnel on more efficient and proper handling of end product. Deliver and unload the end product to dealers primarily in "Inner Loop" via 26' Box truck, or commonly named, straight truck. Maintain an exceptional level of customer service with customers. Must exercise judgement when dealing with potential dealer issues and concerns and communicate the issues appropriately. Trained backup for Production Scheduling & Inventory Control Motivate team to work in an efficient manner to help control labor costs. Responsible for coordinating outgoing UPS, FED EX and LTL deliveries Key Competencies Must have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR. Must be able to work with company ERP system. Must be familiar with shipping processes and material handling equipment. Must be able to lift, bend, carry, maneuver, reach, and push/pull 50 plus pounds. Ability to understand and adapt to new technology. Must be able to work independently and self-regulate work hours to be in-line with fluctuating workload. Problem-solving skills to handle all situations. Good interpersonal and computer skills Ability to multi-task in an environment with ever-changing priorities Dedication and ownership of workload Physical Demands: Must be able to frequently lift up to 25lbs. Must be able to occasionally lift/push up to 50lbs Must be able to stand 100% of time Frequently push/pull/reach/bend. Frequently walking. Frequently bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, reaching. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must have valid .dot certification. High School diploma/ GED Safety Requirements: Must wear safety glasses Must wear ANSI approved work shoe. Must wear cut resistant gloves while working with glass.
