Program Medication Management Child, Adolescent, Adult Medication management is the level of outpatient treatment where the primary service rendered is by a qualified prescribing provider, either a psychiatrist or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). The prescriber evaluates the Member's need for psychotropic medications and provides a prescription and ongoing medical monitoring for efficacy and side effects of medication administration. There is also coordination of care with other mental health, medical, and substance use disorder providers. Telehealth services are available for Members with specific geographic, cultural, linguistic or special needs that cannot be met in their community but can be provided using a combination of interactive video, audio, and externally acquired images through a networking environment between a Member and a provider. Medication Visits may consist specifically of a psychopharmacological evaluation, prescription, review, and/or monitoring by the prescriber. Visits may also include counseling and/or coordination of care w/other physicians, other qualified health care professionals or agencies. Treatment is provided consistent with the nature of the problem(s) and the patient's and/or family's needs. The length of the appointment time varies depending on whether the Member is new or already established with the provider. Job Description Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Masters of Science in Nursing, with a Psychiatric/Mental Health emphasis. Must be licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the State Board of Nursing. Current DEA registration. Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria, Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques, Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices, Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Psychiatric Prescriber is responsible for adhering to professional and legal requirements and principles as well as demonstrating sound professional judgment at all times. Job Duties Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations. Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed Provide crisis intervention as needed Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care Peer review of files monthly Psychiatric NP Details and Requirements - Psychiatric certification required Active PMHNP license DEA license 3 - 5+ Years' experience PREFERRED Benefits: Excellent Benefits Package!
