JOB SUMMARY: Newly graduate from CNC program welcome. Under general direction from the Machining Process Owner, the CNC Operator will be responsible for Set up and operation of a variety of CNC machining centers (High Speed, Multi Axis- Grinding and Milling) to produce precision machined cast parts according to production schedule. Position requires the application of mechanics, shop mathematics, layout, and machining procedures. Operator must perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of quality, service and cost objectives Other duties including non-technical maintenance, such as general cleaning, re-organizing areas may be assigned as required by the Machining Process Owner. JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Monitor the feed and speed of the machines during machining process Adhere to instructions for the appropriate loading and unloading of work pieces during production machining runs Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machinery work. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers All other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Successful demonstration of Triax core values Proficient in the Manufacturing Operation in which assigned CNC machine operator experience. Blade and vein experience a plus. CMM experience a plus Experience grinding with CBN wheels Knowledge of machining nickel and cobalt-based materials a plus Other competencies include problem solving, initiative, critical thinking, organization, and time management Must read, comprehend, and follow all safety procedures for the department Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed technical instructions Read, write, and speak English fluently GD &T / Print Reading Knowledge is a Plus Basic Fanuc G&M - Code Knowledge is a Plus APPLICABLE MANUFACTURING COMPETENCIES: Teamwork/Interpersonal skills a must Flexibility to work extra hours as necessary to complete parts and meet deadlines Must be an organized individual that can execute daily and weekly plans Can adapt quickly to changing priorities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Comfortable maneuvering in tight, not easily accessed areas of industrial equipment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to continuously stand or sit Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift repetitively
