General Description Employees in this positions are responsible for inspecting manufactured parts for compliance with product standards and specifications. Essential Job Functions and Duties Inspection of parts at machines for dimensional and visual quality according to specifications. (80%) Read and interpret blueprints and work orders at the machines. Pull part from each station in a machine and perform visual and dimensional inspection within specified tolerance accurately. This inspection requires repetitive twisting motion. If machine is not producing parts within specifications, inspector trainee informs Inspection Group Leader or Quality Control Technician, so that the machine can be stopped until adjustments are made. Properly document all readings and measurements at each machine. Work in holding area for nonconformance material. (15%) Pull parts from bin and perform visual and dimensional inspection, including repetitive twisting motion. Separate parts that do not fall into product specifications into a different bin. Job Specifications Ability to follow instructions. Ability to get along with co-workers. Must be able to effectively present information in one on one in small group situations to auditors, other employees, and supervisors. Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and follow blueprints and work orders. Ability to apply common sense, understanding, carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to solve on the job problems. Must wear all required PPE and follow safety and work rules.
