Head Lifeguard - Full Time

Description:
The primary responsibility of Independence Lifeguards is to ensure the safety of our residents and their guests first through preventative strategies and water safety education. It is essential that Lifeguards also take action as the first responder to incidents and emergencies within our aquatic facilities. Employment Details Head Lifeguard Pay range $18 - $20 per hour Full-time, 40 hours per week Full-time benefits Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Responsibilities Accept full responsibilities of the lifeguard position as needed Refer to Lifeguard Position Description for details Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor, including but not limited to: Utilize time effectively when not on surveillance duty by completing routine tasks in and around pool, pool deck, and recreation office areas Conduct or Assist as needed with all pool programs/group swims Mentor new pool staff directly Cross-train to substitute for other Recreation positions as needed including Pool or Building Supervisor Encourage and support ongoing communication between Lifeguards and management Willingness to lead Recreation Programs as needed and qualified to do so Knowledge and Skills Self-motivated and willingness to be a leader Public relations skills including strong communication skills and ability to project voice Decision making skills 3-5 years Minimum Experience American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED/First Aid Certified Water Safety Instructor Certified Must pass a drug test and background check Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in a mixture of weather conditions and stay on feet for extended periods of time
