SWIM USA is the premiere designer and manufacturer of women's swimwear located in New York City. We are 84 years young and seeking an Associate Technical Designer to join our expanding team. Job Summary The Associate Technical Designer will assist senior level TD's in all levels of designing. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Create spec sheets clearly; communicating components, fabrics, cutting information, drawing, measurements, and sewing instructions needed for proto and production Create illustrator technical sketches as required for accounts Communicate with factories regarding questions Measure and evaluate development and production garments Maintain tracking reports and follow up on sample requirements for accounts Be able to work with deadlines Work with Patternmaker, Designer, Product Managers and Sample Makers All other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager Qualifications/Requirements Education: High School or GED equivalent required; BS in Fashion Design or Associate Degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of 5-6 years' experience in Tech Design Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel Must be able to communicate clearly to manufacturers , vendors and sewers Must be able to lead fittings and evaluate fit corrections Must have good knowledge of garment construction Must possess Illustrator/photo shop experience Travel: N/A Working Conditions: Office - some hybrid work available Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, and walk 8 hours/day Vision requirements correctable to 20/20 vision All candidates MUST provide proof of at least 1 (one) COVID vaccination at the time an offer is made, or contact the SWIM USA Human Resources team, if eligible for an exemption.SWIM USA is an EOE
