Easterseals Iowa is searching for a new team members for our Assistive Technology and Rural Solution programs, supporting individuals across the state of Iowa in meeting their needs and increasing independence! A little about these two unique programs: The Easterseals Iowa Assistive Technology Program helps Iowans learn about and access the assistive technology (AT) they need as part of their daily lives to participate in community life safely and independently. Easterseals Iowa's Rural Solutions Program offers agricultural work site and home modification consultations, peer support, services for the family, information and referrals, and medical equipment loan services. This program also works with rural family members with disabilities, and actively pursue services that will enhance their lives. Principle Accountabilities : Respond to client, technical assistance, assistive technology, and equipment loan requests. Provide onsite evaluation and training for Veterans and maintain records according to Veteran's Administration contract. Process Assistive Technology loan requests and perform all related duties including sanitation, refurbishment, customer communication, and completing paperwork and documentation. Provide one-to-one virtual assistive technology demonstrations. Provide assistive technology information and referral services through phone, email, and in-person. Utilize community resource people, places, and materials to provide needed solutions for clients. Appropriately document client information for grant purposes and quality case record and review. Organize and prioritize all work assignments. Document client contact and maintain client records. Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements: Experience working with people with disabilities preferred Desire to support independence through creative solutions required Understanding of assistive technology and accommodation evaluations Ability to work independently and prioritize and organize assignments. Ability to work nontraditional hours as needed Ability to work cooperatively with team members and public in a professional and concerned manner. Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal formats. Ability to operate a computer and navigate through a variety of databases. Experience in Word processing software; Word and Excel preferred. Ability to work under pressure, maintains accuracy, and meets deadlines. Ability to pass Mandatory Reporter within first 30 days High degree of physical stamina. Ability to ambulate independently throughout farms, clients homes, buildings and grounds Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift Ability to transfer or move a minimum of 40 pounds. Access to Reliable Transportation for regular participation in work. Possession of valid Iowa Driver's License and maintenance of good driving record. Insurable under Easterseals vehicle insurance policy This position is for Part Time/Relief on Call. The schedule is not set; therefore, it can be super flexible. Specific functions will vary per applicant but will be in line with the basic job description. Positions could partner with veteran services, Rural Solutions Program, or consultations with the Assistive Technology Program. This position may also handle special projects- planning and/or coordination of events. The starting wage for this position is $15.00 an hour with a .25cent wage increase after 90-day evaluation.
