Position Summary The Immersion Faculty of CONHS serves as a member of the faculty and supports the College bycoordinating all operational activities of the Immersion Learning and Simulation Center. Immersionfaculty responsibilities are varied and can include activities such as keeping records, schedulingstandardized patients, organizing and supervising student experiences, ordering supplies and stocking,making recommendations for best practices especially as it relates to simulation and use of learningtechnologies. The faculty are required to work on campus monthly and as needed to prepare forimmersions and independently conduct immersions.The position also allows for annual malpractice insurance reimbursement and continuing education reimbursement.Reimbursement is subject to change per direct supervisor discretion pending annual fiscal budget. This position alsocarries a teaching load commensurate to meet the needs of the College and the availability of the manager. The positionallows for two weekly release days for FNP clinical work outside of the University. Essential Functions: ● Facilitate and teach on campus immersion experience(s) 1-2 weekends per month and as needed● Facilitate and teach virtual immersion experience(s) 1-2 weekdays per month and as needed● Teach or Lead 1 course every 16 weeks (every other term) commensurate with the needs of the college (thisresponsibility will occur on an alternate schedule of that of the director)● Attend CONHS and Immersion staff meetings as scheduled (Tuesdays / Thursdays).● Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory and all supplies needed for immersions and clinical/lab instruction asneeded● Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in curricula, instructional technologies, andoperational systems.● Assist in organizing and scheduling the standardized patients for immersions as needed.● Collaborate with the immersion director to develop curricula for simulation education as needed.● Collaborate with the immersion director to design, develop, implement, and evaluate immersive learning scenarios,procedures, and practices as needed.● Collaborate with the immersion director to develop methods for competency testing as needed.● Maintain security and integrity of facilities, equipment, and supplies while maximizing their availability foreducational exercises.● Maintain data security and confidentiality in accordance with applicable, federal, state, and local guidelines.● Mentor and orient students and adjunct faculty to the equipment and the Center.● Be familiar with and teach utilizing telehealth equipment as needed● Teach Health Assessment techniques● Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Immersion Director. Position Requirements - Education and Experience: ● Must reside in Arizona● Master's degree or doctorate in nursing with advanced practice nurse credentials (FNP) required● DNP or PhD or terminal degree in Nursing strongly preferred.● Current unencumbered California RN licensure and AZ RN/APRN License orwillingness to obtain● A minimum of 2 years of active clinical experience as an APRN.● Experience managing operations in a simulation education center or working in a nursing skills labstrongly preferred (but not required)● Expertise in distance learning and instructional technology strongly preferred (but not required)● Expertise in business development or working with vendors strongly preferred (but not required)Skills and Abilities:● Knowledge of advanced practice nursing in primary care● Knowledge of principles and methods of adult education● Knowledge of educational theory and instructional technology● Knowledge of simulation education and testing● Knowledge of management and leadership theory and practice● Knowledge of innovation theory and practice● Knowledge of project management and coordination● Knowledge of relevant information technology, to include software and hardware used to run asimulation/nursing skills lab or education center● Knowledge of relevant analog and digital audiovisual technology, to include software andhardware used to run a simulation education center● Must be proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)● Skills or familiarity with suturing, splinting, toenail removal, and digital blocks● Skill in setting priorities, making critical decisions, and remaining flexible in high pressuresituations● Skill in executing responsibilities in a timely, meticulous and professional manner, whiledemonstrating initiative and creativity● Skill in creating and maintaining human and automated systems to protect physical security ofpersons and equipment and confidentiality of data and records● Skill in creating and coordinating complex schedules, calendars, activities, and eventsSkill in creating, managing, and using data systems to support decision making● Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing● Ability to lead inter-professional teams with diverse educational backgrounds and levels ofexpertise in simulation education● Ability to interact effectively with university administrators and leaders in the public and privatesectors Certification, License, Registration: ● Current unencumbered California RN license● Current unencumbered Arizona RN license● Current unencumbered Arizona APRN license with family nurse practitioner certification Environment: ● The essential functions of the job are usually performed in an environmentally controlled facilitywhere the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position may involveworking in a combination of office and classroom environments. Travel by car, plane, train and othermodes of transportation may be required for this position.● While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands andarms and talk or hear. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move objectsweighing up to 25 pounds.
