Elementary School Instructional Coach

Reports to the Elementary School Principal SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Elementary School Instructional Coach will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher pedagogy. The Instructional Coach will observe, support, and provide resources for teachers while working directly with administration in executing identified priorities with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement and growth, and building teacher effectiveness. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide support in analyzing MAP data. Monitor and disaggregate MAP data after each testing session. Develop plans as needed with grade level teams to encourage student growth and to improve MAP test averages where needed. Assist teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data. Assist teachers with specific classroom activities when requested. Provide support for classroom motivation and management strategies. Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum and state standards. Provide teachers resources related to instruction and curriculum. Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues. Model effective, differentiated instruction. Assist teachers in development of lesson plans for differentiated instruction. Provide encouragement and emotional support for teachers. Assist teachers in aligning their teaching with appropriate standards, curriculum, and assessments. Provide feedback to teachers through informal observations. Work with the Assistant Superintendent to provide and participate in leading professional development for teachers. Encourage ongoing professional growth for all teachers. Provide organized, individual and/or group learning opportunities for teachers as needed. Provide one-on-one coaching with teachers as requested or assigned. Provide mentor support for PAQ training. Monitor MAP data Perform duties as assigned by the Principal. QUALIFIED APPLICANTS: Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith, and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School. Have a commitment to the mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of Christian schooling as expressed by Southside Christian School demonstrated by their eligible children enrolled in Southside Christian School. Must be a spiritually mature, veteran Christian leader who agrees with the school's Mission, Vision, Values, Biblical Beliefs, Statement of Christian Life Commitment, and Statement of Faith. Must be able to articulate a deep understanding of a biblically informed philosophy of Christian education. Must have experience coaching teachers and excellent knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Strong communication and presentation skills are required. Must be able to obtain ACSI Certification.
