SUMMARY OF POSITION: The marriage and family therapy assistant professor will teach and supervise seven graduate courses over the fall, January, and spring semesters. In addition, this position will advise in the MMFT programs and operate as a core faculty member in the MMFT Department. The position title will be " Community Engagement Director ," which will require the faculty member to connect with the Upstate South Carolina community to increase and promote awareness of the program. The primary location of this position will be at the University Center Greenville, but the candidate will be expected to teach some courses in Spartanburg. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The marriage and family therapy assistant professor will teach two classes and supervise in the fall, one course in the January term, and teach two courses and supervise in the spring. Summer supervision is available outside of the 9-month contract. The assistant professor will participate in faculty and other departmental meetings, such as accreditation meetings, serve on at least one campus committee starting in their second year and perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Marriage and Family Department . JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related clinical field completed by August 1, 2023. AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate. Licensed or license-eligible as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in SC. Evidence of commitment to and understanding social justice , diversity, affirming therapy care, and inclusion . Evidence of potential for success in teaching and scholarship. Experiences connecting with community members Minimum qualifications: Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related clinical field completed by August 1, 2023. Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of commitment to and understanding social justice , diversity, affirming therapy care, and inclusion .
