Job Overview: Sanford Federal is looking for a qualified constant observation technician to support the mission of the Pittsburg VA Healthcare System. Job Details: Job Title: Constant Observation Technician (COT)/Sitters Location : VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) UD Division, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 Schedule: Full-time/ Part-time option. Requirements & Skills: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail Ability to organize workload and use effective time management Ability to work effectively in a team environment Basic knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workplace Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities: Assists in maintaining a healthful, safe environment Keeps the hospital client in constant eye contact during the entire assigned shift Assists the client with ambulating by providing stand-by assistance Follows universal precautions whenever giving any aspect of client care Responds to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of the patient Follows emergency procedures in the event of any incident, accident, injury, or significant changes in the patient's condition Reports any changes in the patient's mental or physical condition, suspicion of ingesting questionable substances, or items brought to the room by visitors to the staff nurse May provide non-medical personal care, light housekeeping, laundry, and prepare small meals for residents and patients as needed Contributes to positive team spirit Why choose Sanford Federal?
