CPC is seeking candidates for our Head Start Substitute Teacher role. Benefits include... New hire incentive payment of one thousand five hundred dollars, paid in two installments. Eligibility for health, paid dental, and paid vision coverage. 401(k) plan, with 3% match. Paid time off, sick time, and vacation time. 10 company-paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays. Tuition Reimbursement. Summers off with benefit premiums paid. (Teacher roles only.) Ability to work from home 5 days per month (6 months from start date - restrictions apply depending on the position) Pay differential for bilingual staff. Summary : This teacher promotes the children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, as well their individual goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals, including children, families, co-workers, and staff in related agencies and the general public. Develop and maintain a clean, safe and positive classroom environment that facilitates respect, active learning, group management, self-expression, cultural responsibility, and child-initiated learning. Promote and reinforce parental involvement. Plan and prepare for developmentally appropriate learning activities for children, in accordance with the program curriculum. Follow a consistent schedule, providing planned activities that include small and large group experiences for children. Prepare classroom materials prior to the children's arrival to support developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Conduct parent conferences and home visits to share and gain information on children's progress, needs, and interests. Facilitate parent understanding and skills in working with their child. Effectively direct and mentor assistant teachers in planning and delivering learning experiences for children. EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirements: Associate degree and 2 years' experience in related field. Preferred: bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Early Childhood, Child and Family Studies or Elementary Education plus one-year related work experience with preschool children.
