General Description Under the direction of the Lead Electrical Panel Builder, the Electrical Panel Builder will work as an integral part of the team to complete the electrical panel builds. She/He will coordinate panel builds in accordance with the project schedules. Effective communication with the lead panel builder will be needed to build the panels correctly according to schematics while staying on schedule. The Panel Builder duties also include working safely and keeping the panel build area clean and organized. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 1. Ensure focus on safety when completing tasks. 2. Read and understand the panel electrical schematics and technical documents related to components in the panel build. 3. Wire panel accurately to schematics while being detail oriented with wiring. 4. Work independently while staying on task to complete panel builds on schedule. 5. Communicate effectively with leads on questions or concerns while maintaining a team atmosphere. 6. Ensure all panels are wired correctly and within the panel build schedule. 7. Keep hand and power tools clean and in good working order. 8. Must be proficient with the use of power tools, hand tools, and measuring tools common to panel building. 9. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor accurately and within the given schedule. 10. Keep work area clean and organized. 11. Other duties as needed. 12. Helps drive and support BCT's Culture and Core Values. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Requires 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible related panel building experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PLC and UL experience preferred. Must have experience with common hand and power tools commonly used in panel building. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The panel build lead will regularly talk and listen, climb, or balance and reach above shoulders. H/she will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and move from place to place. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. The employee will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver several hundred pounds a short distance. The employee will frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Employees will occasionally use material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cranes. The employee will occasionally need to work at heights using a ladder, working platform, of lift. Work Environment This job operates in a factory environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is often loud enough to require hearing protection. Employees work in a shop/factory environment with moderate-to-heavy noise levels. Temperatures vary with outside conditions and can be the same as outside temperatures at times.
