This is an opportunity to join a growing and well-respected practice! Las Vegas Urology is currently seeking a patient-focused, team oriented Medical Scribe to join its team. Our staff works together in taking care of our patient's needs, and have been doing so for decades. PTO accrual 7 paid holidays General Summary of Duties: Personal assistant to the physician; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver efficient patient care. Essential Expectations: (may not include the entire list of duties) Document patient encounters, in real-time, within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system Generate referral letters Manage and sort medical documents within the EMR Assist Physician to increase efficiency and productivity Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic Spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors Ensure that all clinical data, lab or other test results, the interpretation of the results by the physician are recorded accurately in the medical record Collect, organize and catalog data for physician quality reporting system and other quality improvement efforts and format for submission Assist with listening to all voicemails by end of each day. Respond to emergent calls within 24 hours and 48 hours for non-emergent Review of charts to prepare for physicians Respond to all tasks in a timely manner Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to photocopying, faxing, emailing, reviewing and editing of documents, filing and record keeping Performs related work as required Treat co-workers and patients with courtesy and respect Assist other staff members and supports the team approach Arrive to work on time and be consistent with attendance Maintain strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations Minimum Requirements: 1+ years medical scribing Medical assisting experience preferred Bilingual a plus Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Skills/Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology Dictation experience Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction Ability to speak clearly and concisely with a pleasant telephone voice Ability to work in a multi-task, high energy environment Ability to prioritize Ability to be proactive and initiate processes with little supervision Must possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented Physical Demands: Requires standing and walking for periods of time. Some bending, lifting, and stretching required. Manual dexterity required for use of telephone and computer keyboard. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Position requires the ability to work in stressful situations. Involves contact with patients. Occasional pressure due to multiple patients being seen by the doctor.
