General Description Under the direction of the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Robotics Automation Engineer will work as an integral part of the team to design, detail, program, train, and troubleshoot several robotic cells within BCT Cast Products and for BCT's Customers. To be successful, communication with multiple groups within the company will be necessary. Ideally, the candidate will have experience or demonstrated knowledge about foundry industry related robotic applications including foundry grade products and force control for grinding. This individual will also help with long term support of the various cells to ensure that various individuals are able to support the cells to maintain a low downtime and high ROI environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Design and Detail assigned projects, in collaboration with engineering, and shop needs. Submit drawings to lead engineers and/or team leads for review prior to release. Maintain BOM and part information within the ERP system. Detail in accordance with BCT drawing guidelines and SOP's. Develop drawings for ease of assembly and installation. Ability to program PLC's, HMIs, and Fanuc robots - including shop testing. Hold self-accountable to meeting timelines for production releases. Develop plans to maintain self-sustainable robotic cells. On a daily basis, monitor cells for areas of growth. Create new robotic programs by need. Assist in communication and documentation of daily project status and release dates. Proficiency in Solidworks for solid modeling and assemblies Proficiency in IR Vision 2d and 3d software Proficiency in Fanuc Handling Tool Software or similar Proficiency in Rockwell PLC software (preferred) Proficiency in Rockwell HMI software (preferred) Ability to detail in accordance with standard drawing practices. Experience maintaining bill of materials and part information using an ERP system. Ability to prioritize workload and meet company objectives. Strong interpersonal & written skills with desire to be an active team member. Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills; MS Office, MS Project or similar project management software. Education and/or Experience Requires associate or bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Panel design and build experience (preferred). Work Environment This job operates primarily in an office environment, with work that will occasionally take them out to the shop floor. While performing the duties of this job out in the shop, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. When in the shop the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the shop is sometimes loud enough to require hearing protection. BCT is hiring!
