Ontario Christian seeks a Grounds Maintenance Technician responsible for care taking of the grounds and basic maintenance repairs. The Grounds Maintenance Technician performs semi-skilled duties connected with alteration, repair and redecorating; assists in construction of equipment and structures; performs manual labor in connection with building repair and grounds repair or development; and performs other related duties necessary in the maintenance of Ontario Christian School facilities, equipment and grounds. Requirements for this role are as follows Assist skilled maintenance workers, working independently with a minimum amount of direction Mow, trim and fertilize lawns; prune trees and shrubs Operate and maintain landscape equipment Operate and maintain machinery and tools Assist in maintaining irrigation systems and time clock settings Repair drinking fountains Perform carpentry duties Repair and install door locks Clean and repair roofs Perform electrical repairs Repair heating units Mix and wheel cement Perform heavy manual labor -must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds Operate school vehicles Event setups/teardowns (chairs, tables) Faith Requirement As a distinctly Christian school, Ontario Christian maintains high spiritual and lifestyle expectations of its employees. This person shall: Be a mature, sincere Christ follower. Who feels called by God to his/her profession. Profess Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior. Believe that the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living. Agree with the school's Statement of Faith. Active attendance at a local Protestant Christian church. Strive to be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40, Micah 6:8, 1Timothy 4:12). Demonstrate a lifestyle on and off campus consistent with Christian values in all areas. A Christian lifestyle should reflect the biblical perspective of integrity and appropriate personal and family relationships, business conduct and moral behavior. Display's spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to "train up a child in the way he should go" (Proverbs 22:6) and promote the spiritual development of a child through Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ. Experience One (1) + years working in grounds work required five (5) years preferred. One (1) + years in maintenance work preferred.
