Position Title: Bartender Department: FOH Reports to: Manager/Assistant Manager and Bar Manager/Director Supervises: N/A FLSA Status: POSITION SUMMARY Bartenders work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. Their responsibilities include verifying age requirements, knowing alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classic cocktails, processing payments, managing inventory and cleaning bar supplies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Take beverage orders from customers or wait staff and serving drinks as requested Mix drinks using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers Monitor all patrons for alcohol intake to appropriate levels Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons Keep bar area clean, safe, and organized Maintain a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory Place orders for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies Slice, pit, and prepare fruit garnishes for drinks Healthy and Safety Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire and Emergency procedures Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented, and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Exposure to moderate, sometimes loud noise level. QUALIFICATIONS Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures as established in the Company's Employee Handbook. Incumbents will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management. EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED equivalent CERTIFICATIONS, Licenses, and Registrations Current SERVSAFE Certification WORK EXPERIENCE Previous experience working in the hospitality industry. KEY SKILLS SET Strong organizational, time-management, attention to detail; Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines; Excellent communication skills; A strong base of customer service knowledge; Strong coaching and people-development skills Strong leaderships, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; Team player; The duties of this position may change from time to time.
