JOB SUMMARY To provide individual and group counseling services following 245G guidelines in a co-occurring, intensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment program. Average caseload size is between 5-7 clients and average group hours is 6-9 hours per week. Additional duties may include working with patients in either the medical department and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic, the behavioral health department or other departments within the Indian Health Board, Inc. In addition to competency in delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention, must also be willing and able to inform clinical practice with respect to the dynamics of underlying collective, generational and historical trauma as well as the spiritual and cultural tenants of the American Indian/Indigenous culture. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Effectively manage a case load with co-occurring disorders. Provide direct services to clients including interviewing clients, assessment, treatment/aftercare planning, individual and group counseling, and monitoring/evaluating client progress. Provides excellent quality, culturally sensitive and aware care to patients with substance abuse or dual diagnosis. Participate in regular multidisciplinary staff meetings. Co-facilitate group psychotherapy with an LADC or mental health professional. Engage in community outreach as needed. Makes referrals for mental health, medical, dental and other enabling services as needed and maintain on-going communication with referral sources, Maintain accurate, timely and complete records, including but not limited to documenting client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, continuing care plans and discharge summaries. Train and/or supervise interns as directed. Participate in in-services, workshops, coursework, and other continuing education relative to quality client care. Provide crisis intervention/evaluation as needed. Participate in on-site clinical supervision a minimum of twice monthly. Endorse and maintain awareness that each essential job function should be viewed and implemented in a way that respects the American Indian Community, that seeks to harmonize mainstream mental health/substance abuse practices with indigenous healing practices, preferences and perspectives that reduce the amount and effects of colonized processes. Perform additional duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS ADC-T or LADC with license in good standing or dual licensed with mental health licensure or pre-licensure (LAMFT/LMFT, LGSW/LICSW, LPC/LPCC). Preference will be given to candidate with experience with mental health, trauma-informed care and culturally aware care. Must be able to pass DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulations. Three to five years clinical experience preferred. Ability to perform basic health assessment procedures, CPR, first aid, and client care functions, or upon employment completion of training; Must be free from problematic substance use for at least two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Microsoft Outlook/Office and Electronic Health Record experience required. Ability to structure time well, develop and meet priorities. Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patient's rights Ability to work in a team environment. Understanding of HIPPA and Mandated Reporting laws. Important: The COVID and Influenza vaccines are required at Indian Health Board
