Accent Controls, Inc. is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Motor Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution, located in San Diego, California. Contract date 01SEP2021 JOB SUMMARY: The Motor Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, and/or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, tractors, or other assigned equipment. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs necessary and identifying what parts are needed to complete the work. Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, gaskets, or other engine parts. Grinding and adjusting valves. Rebuilding carburetors. Overhauling transmissions. Repairing/replacing fuel injection systems, lighting components, and ignition systems Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Job Breakdown sheets (JBS), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards. Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals. Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures. Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information. Maintain a safe and secure work environment. Perform other duties as assigned relative to the servicing and repair of vehicles and equipment used in support of the contract. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma (or equivalent). Successful completion of training and experience associated with the work of a motor vehicle mechanic generally acquired through technical school and/or formal apprenticeship or equivalent training. SUMMARY OF JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be U.S. Citizen Possess a valid Driver's License Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language Military or DLA Distribution experience preferable Experience with service and repair of powered MHE equipment, vehicles, and industrial equipment Ability to utilize tooling, equipment, and PPE to safely perform service and repairs. MISCELLANEOUS / OTHER: Ability to stand, squat, and have full range of motion, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties, lift at least 40 pounds, operate a forklift in accordance with a training certification program, and see, hear and respond to dangerous situations.
