Position Summary Responsible for management of shop and field fusion, fabrication, and installation, as well as any task assigned, to be completed with high quality of workmanship measured by the absence of internal or external customer complaints, rework, lost materials or time. Essential Duties - Responsibilities -To ensure safe work practices by all crew leaders and associates through training,evaluation, and audit processes.- To ensure crews assigned are effectively coordinated, ensure all resources are identified and obtained to facilitate efficient workflow. Check materials, tools and equipment are available, the specifications are correct and quantity and quality is adequate.- Must effectively perform and provides crew training- Communicates with other departments regularly to ensure deadlines are met.- Responsible for completing the volume of work volume assigned within budget and on schedule.- Obtains job documentation, performs pre-job planning, reviews jobs and ensures understanding of scope, identifies materials, supplies, equipment, tools and all required resources in advance before job commences and transported to work station for shop production or loaded on truck or delivered on job site for performing field jobs without delays and time wasted.- Responsible for efficient coordination of assigned crew measured by crew consistently completing jobs according to specifications within the estimated time, without rework or waste.- Oversee equipment safe operations, resolves any operations issues and immediately reports equipment defects.- Ensures equipment and tools are signed out on release and signed in on return. Ensures tools are safely stored, returned to stock immediately after use and tool lost or damaged situations are avoided.- Performs ongoing quality inspection while job is in progress & ensures timely identification and resolution of major quality issues. Perform final inspection on completion of job and resolution of any issues identified before completion or shipment.- Ensures work areas is kept clean while job is in progress properly cleaned at end of day and all debris removed from job site or stored in approved location.- Ensures extra materials used for jobs not included in original estimate are identified, properly documented with Materials Requisitions and submitted to the President/ Sales Department for additional billing. Ensure accurate job time is tracked and recorded. Immediately on completion of job, ensures proper disposal and handling of onsite debris.- Responsible for completion of all field documentation, completes work order and weekly job status report and discuss weekly job status with the President.- Identifies roadblocks/issues, recognizes existing and potential job issues and resolves issues to ensure schedule is maintained.- Responsible for daily accurate preparation of work order and other field documents and submit according to schedule.- Ensures good housekeeping practices are observed in the shop and tools and equipment are kept clean and well organized.- Ensures safety rules observed, required safety gears are worn and crew operates within established safety guidelines and accident free operation is achieved.- Ensures company's policies and procedures are observed.- Creates a positive work environment demonstrated by motivated and responsive subordinates.- In conjunction with VP Operations, as requested assist with subordinates' performance evaluation and submits forms according to schedule established.- Recognizes and performs tasks that need to be completed, although not directly assigned and assists others as needed.- Follows through effectively on all decisions made, and directions given, by the President. Team Management - Ability to manage safety goals and compliance to ensure a zero harm environment- Ability to manage and supervise crew members- Ability to walk job sites with customers and provide an accurate estimate- Must be able to effectively coordinate with customers and manage the entire project- Maintaining a crew leadership role less than 50% of the time Work Environment - Continual exposure to all outdoor weather- Travel: up to 75%- Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to temperature extemes, moving equipment, loud noise, dust and fumesJob Skills- Ability to read and interpret drawings and job instructions.- Knowledge of arithmetic to handle the calculations necessary for measuring, setting up and laying out jobs.- Mechanical skills including carpentry, general construction and equipment operation skills along with cutting and welding skills.- Focus on Customer Needs- Exhibiting Interpersonal Skills- Strong Leadership and Communication Skills- Quality/Attention to Detail- Problem Solving- Initiative- Planning and Organizing- Dependability- Accountability- Professional Decorum- Job Knowledge- Safety Awareness Physical Requirements - Requires continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, squatting, bending, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material and equipment- Safe, repetetive lifting of up to 70 pounds Education - High School Diploma or GEDMinimum Qualifications Basics - Must be 18 years of age- CPR Training- Must pass a Drug Test- Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record- Must pass Pre-Employment Tests (if applicable) Safety - Confined Space Training- Must pass a Background Check- Annual OSHA Training- Annual MSHA Training Fusion - Small Diameter Fusion Certified (Manual to 6")- Medium Diameter Fusion Certified (Hydraulic to 20")- Large Diameter Fusion Certified (Hydraulic to 65")- Small Diameter Electrofusion Certified (up to 12")- Large Diameter Electrofusion Certified (14" and above)- PolyPro Fusion Certified- Extrusion Weld Certified- Competent in Saddle Fusion Equipment - Certified Forklift Operator- Lifting/Rigging Training- Basic Electrical Circuit Knowledge- Basic Mechanical Skills Preferred Qualifications - 5 or more years of fusion/field experience
