Job Duties: Perform routine inspections and make modifications to internal combustion engines, diesel generators, and associated equipment Diagnose malfunctions and communicate with the customer of needed repairs Perform all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance on Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and annunciator panels Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and prints Perform load testing on units to identify possible problems Make electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to diesel control circuits Rebuild and repair gas compressors (turbochargers) used for forced-induction of IC engines, head gaskets, seals, water pumps, catalytic converters, torque heads, belts and hoses Conduct automatic and manual transfer tests of simulated power outages to ensure generators are functioning properly Test batteries, fuel, coolant, and oil to ensure the generator runs properly Identify any warranty repairs and document properly on the repair order Complete required documentation for work order files and customer billing Other duties as assigned Desired Competencies: Knowledge and experience with mechanics or a related field Mechanically inclined and able to work independently Detail oriented Team Player Flexibility to meet changing demands Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Valid CDL driver's license with clean driving record (preferred) 2+ years' experience as a Generator Technician or similar position (preferred) Benefits: Quarterly Bonuses Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 401K with company matching Company paid Short-term & Long-Term Disability Insurance Annual Boot & Tool Allowance Gateway Truck & Refrigeration is a division of Gateway Industrial Power, Inc. and is an equal opportunity employer.
