Challenger is the Genesee County YMCA's program for individuals with special needs. Volunteers are generally assigned to a program participant who they will work with to help the child learn and enjoy the activities. We offer a wide range of activities through out the year so that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Participants work closely with their volunteers and often form a special bond with these individuals, and the participants will increase their self-confidence and enjoy sports and activities that may otherwise be unavailable to them.0
