Unit Counselor Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young women and girls? Are you looking to develop a career in recreation and social services? The Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council, an organization focused on building courage, confidence, and character, is looking to hire for our Unit Counselor positions for our upcoming camp season at Skyland Ranch in Southern California. This is a rewarding temporary position consisting of 45 working days. It pays a competitive wage and provides workers' compensation, health and accident insurance, and room and board. About The Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council believes in preparing girls to empower themselves and the world. A Girl Scout practices a lifetime of leadership G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Risk taker, Innovator, Leader) experiences and connections. Pride is at the core of who we are. Girl Scouts explore science, technology, engineering and math, the arts, travel, the environment, and health and wellness. As a Girl Scout, girls learn how to lead like a G.I.R.L. and take action to make a difference in the world. With the support from dedicated adult volunteers, parents and staff, we deliver the best Girl Scout experience to 12,386 girl members and 5,657 adult members. Our membership represents the diverse cultures of our region. Our goal is to provide a meaningful, relevant program to the members we serve. A Day in the Life as a Unit Counselor As a Unit Counselor, you awake each day ready to make a positive difference in the lives of our camp participants. You provide assistance in the development, implementation, and deliver of the Girl Scout program to the units. You are knowledgeable about the needs of campers including special needs such as diet, medication, bedwetting, etc. as well as supervise all aspects of the camper's day from wake-up to meals to program to rest time, and more! You assist in the opening and closing of the camp as well as evaluate the current camp season and provide recommendations for future camping seasons. You love that you get to be involved in such a variety of tasks and get great satisfaction out of making a positive impact in the lives of those you serve.
