GENERAL SUMMARY:The Events Manager will manage Roland Park Country School's fundraising, alumnae, stewardship and volunteer events. The Events Manager is an integral part of the Advancement Team. These events are important to engage our constituencies, keep them connected to the School and to raise philanthropic and sponsorship support. The Events Manager liaises with sponsors, vendors, facilities staff and volunteer committees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:In collaboration with the Director of Alumnae Relations, will plan, manage, and implement all aspects of alumnae events locally and around the country. These events include: regional reunions, legacy events, senior celebrations, holiday receptions, Alumnae Weekend and other events as needed to support and engage alumnae with the school. In collaboration with Director of Leadership and Planned Giving, will plan, manage, and implement all aspects of stewardship annual events, such as receptions for leadership donors, scholarship and endowed donors, campaign and planned giving donors.In collaboration with the Associate Director of Annual Giving, will plan, manage, and implement all aspects of our annual fundraising events: Night Under the Stars, Golf Classic and Red Hot Run. Manage sponsorship program for our fundraising events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, determining sponsorship structure, creation of sponsorship brochure, coordination of online sponsorship platform, identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding all sponsors.Create and track the budget related to each event.Implement strategies to evaluate events and include appropriate follow-up after each event.Work with the communications team for a strategy to promote events and to share recaps and photos after each one.Create and oversee detailed timelines for each event and develop briefings prior to each event to send to leadership, staff and key volunteers.Prepare and track invitation and RSVP lists in Raiser's Edge; provide updated reports to the Advancement Team.Coordinate and support all associated volunteer planning committees associated with events.Create event communication schedules, save-the-dates, invitations, signage, programs, and any necessary social media posts.Manage menus, decor, equipment and facility needs with caterer, vendors and/or volunteer hosts.Represent the Advancement Office in the all-school calendar meetings.Work with the Advancement Service Team to book ticket fees, registrations, sponsorships and to generate appropriate tax and acknowledgement letters.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Pays great attention to details.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge preferred.Must have valid driver's license.Ability to work some extended hours, night and weekends, as business needs require.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree required.4+ years experience as an event planner or similar experience in a professional setting; preference for experience in higher education or independent schools.Experience producing creative events and running successful fundraising events.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Requires ability to sit at a desk and use standard office equipment, such as computer and phone, for prolonged periods.Occasionally work outdoorsMust be able to ascend/descend stairs in an office building.Ability to turn, bend, reach, squat, push, pull, and occasionally lift 30lbs.WORK CONDITIONS:The Events Manager is a full-time, exempt, 12-month position.The individual in this position is expected to work during all hours as may be assigned by the School and during other hours for events and activities.Events Manager is expected to perform their job duties on campus, unless otherwise permitted by the Head of School.As a condition of employment, all employees hired after August 1, 2021, are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and be able to provide proof of such vaccination.BACKGROUND CHECK:A background check (including a criminal records and employment history review) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be begin work with RPCS.
