Summary This position can be based out of any of the major South Carolina regions. Coordinate and oversee all areas related to foster care programs. Responsible for providing overall leadership to Foster Care. The individual will ensure the agency's mission, goals and objectives related to children and their families are fulfilled. Primary Performance Objectives Provide supervision and oversight of the foster care program. Provide supervision to the local program directors of the Foster Care program within the assigned region. Region may include up to three offices within South Carolina but may be more. Facilitate and coordinate best practices that maintain the highest level of safety, security and quality care for all clients in the Foster Care program. Job Task Summary Coordinate the Foster Care programs according to applicable performance standards and requirements as set forth by applicable governing regulations, Epworth policy and procedure, the TFTC practice model, and national accreditation standards. Assist in training and credentialing of staff in order to comply with treatment needs, internal policy, fiscal and regulatory requirements. Attends foster parent events within region. Oversight of billing for the foster care programs within coverage area. Recommends changes as needed to foster care program as contracts and Medicaid changes occur. Oversight of growth, compliance, well-being outcomes and risk management for the assigned region for Foster Care office. Participate as appropriate in the PQI process as assigned. Provides back up on-call rotation. Responsible for assessing the well-being of clients and mitigating any identified risk with direct supervisor and other appropriate team members. Responsible for ensuring all critical incidents are resolved in a manner that mitigates risk to clients and families serviced. Responsible for overseeing any investigations and ensuring resolutions are properly documented and client safety is addressed and monitored. Responsible for providing training and oversight of clinical documentation. Responsible for ensuring Epworth's model of care is implemented and documentation reflects service provision is done in accordance of Epworth's standard of care. Responsible for providing back up "on call" for the local directors. Work with local program directors to establish desired outcomes and evaluate program results against established goals and objectives. Lead in the utilization, development and supervision of personnel. Set expectations and performance standards for staff. Provide guidance and support to staff while holding accountable for desired outcomes. Lead in coaching and facilitating the professional development of staff. Ensure compliance with all operating policies and procedures and standards relating to Mission, Vision, and Purpose statements. Ensure appropriate up-to-date policy and procedures are in place, well communicated and followed by appropriate individuals and groups Ensure effective recruitment, training, recognition, and supervision of foster care staff and volunteers. Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with other agencies which provide services to help meet the needs of the children and families we serve. The above list is not all-inclusive. The President and Chief Operating Officer may assign other duties and responsibilities. Travel is required for position. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Directors of foster care programs within region that is assigned. Qualifications: Master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling Five years experience working with children in the child welfare system. Prior experience working with a child placing agency is highly desired. Must be proficient with various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic communication. Know or have the ability to quickly learn any database system required Must become a certified Together Facing the Challenge trainer within 1 year of hire. Must be able to pass standard background checks, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry Has a belief system and engages in faith practices that are compatible with those of the United Methodist Church Personal Attributes and Skills: Demonstrates the ability to learn and to practice teamwork; patient and compassionate Understands and respects the necessity for confidentiality Positive and calm presence in all situations Organized with an attention to detail Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form The mission of Epworth Children's Home is to serve children, youth and families through caring, safe, Christian communities, where hurts are healed, hope is nurtured, and faith in God, self, and others is developed.
