General Description Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Process Technician will work as an integral part of the company to facilitate in-house manufacturing. This position will require working directly with engineering and sales to create manufacturing estimates for quoting of new components, as well as prompt creation of routings and production orders. We are a growing company looking to expand our capabilities and this position will play a key role in the successful introduction of new manufacturing processes as well as ongoing improvement of existing manufacturing processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Perform BOM review and routing creation for internally manufactured parts (Cutting, machining, laser/waterjet, forming, welding). Provide manufacturing cost estimates for use in quotation of new jobs and parts orders. Create production releases for orders, working directly with planning and materials to ensure timely scheduling. Aid with manufacturing decision making by estimating production and labor times; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Assist in creation of models and drawings for fixturing. Create, update and maintain drawings for production specification. Hold self and support team accountable to company and customer for meeting timelines and objectives. Assist in communication and documentation of daily project status and due dates. Participate in development of SOPs Helps drive and support BCT's Culture and Core Values Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software and working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting. Ability to work with nesting features and cut lists. Ability to prioritize workload and meet company objectives. Strong interpersonal & written skills with desire to be an active team member. Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills MS Office programs. Education and/or Experience An associate's degree in a manufacturing field or similar degree with related experience is preferred. Several years of related experience with other education background will also be considered. Working knowledge of ERP system (JobScope preferred), including routings and work centers. Experience with Laser, waterjet, forming, welding, and milling. CNC or other machining knowledge is preferred. Experience with lean manufacturing preferred. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Work Environment This job operates primarily in an office environment, with work that will regularly take them out to the shop floor. While performing the duties of this job out in the shop, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. When in the shop the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the shop is sometimes loud enough to require hearing protection. BCT is hiring!
