FULL-TIME SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR JOB AVAILABLE Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital, newly constructed in 2018 - state of the art facility conveniently located at 9938 airline highway in the heart of the city at the intersection of I-12 and Airline Hwy. Job Responsibilities: Counsel patient(s), individually and/or in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making recovery changes Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professional or other health professional, such as doctors, nurses and clinicians Complete Assessments within 48 hours of admit Facilitate discharge planning and conduct post-discharge follow-up to assure that linkage of the patient with community resources has occurred reducing hospitalization Meet with Director of Clinicians for supervision Conduct Therapy Groups three times a week, M, W, F. Must conduct three therapy groups per day. Must follow-up with absences of patients that do not attend group and document response Skills/Knowledge Base Needed: Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic charting Twelve step support (types of meetings, literature, sponsor, and community resources) ASAM Criteria and Levels of Care Detox protocols, signs and symptoms Relapse Prevention (educating clients and assisting them in developing plans, etc) Organized and self-disciplined Thorough documentation Education/Experience/License required: At least Two years of group therapy experience preferred LMSW/LPC/LCSW/PLCP required To see the current job openings at Apollo, refer to https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Apollo-Behavioral-Health-Hospital/jobs.
