Doane University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication with expertise in Film, Video Production, and Digital Media for our recently developed New Media program. A Ph.D. or MFA is preferred, ABD or M.A. with significant professional experience may be considered. The successful candidate will teach a range of introductory and advanced courses including Basic Video & Audio, Documentary & Essay Production, Screenwriting & Film Production, and Digital Media Storytelling. The Communication Department at Doane offers majors in Strategic Communication and New Media. The position provides opportunities for intradepartmental and interdepartmental collaboration, as well as teaching special topics courses in an innovative general education program. We seek a candidate with the skills to initiate and establish community contacts, educate students about careers, and engage students in internship, research, and service-learning opportunities. Must demonstrate a commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts setting.
