Position Summary: The STEM Specialist at Mount Mary University will support the STEM hands-on activities for high school and community college students exploring STEM. The STEM specialist will engage with local high schools and Mount Mary departments to coordinate dual-enrollment courses and students. Primary Responsibilities: Work with STEM faculty and staff to create engaging hands-on activities for on-campus events for high school and community college students to explore STEM. Proactively manage resources for and coordinate STEM exploration events. Work collaboratively as a core component of the Sciences Department . Communicate with the VP of Academic Affairs and Enrollment Services on implementing the dual-enrollment program with local high schools. Work with local high school staff and MMU faculty to identify courses of interest for dual-enrollment students. Function as an Academic Affairs team member and execute other duties and projects as assigned. Skills and Experience : Strong interpersonal skills including rapport and relationship building. Ability to involve others in hands-on STEM learning experiences. Proven management of resources, organization and implementation of scientific experiences. Demonstrated capacity and effectiveness in promoting respect and appreciation for diversity and inclusion among students, faculty, staff, students and families. Effective case management skills working within a collaborative care team (preferred experience within an educational setting). Experience working with staff from different parts of an organization toward a common goal. Proven ability to prioritize work appropriately and adapt easily to changing priorities as well as work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience in conducting presentations for varied audiences Qualifications: Master of Science Minimum three years of experience, preferably in an educational setting.
