Employment Specifics: Full-Time Faculty (207-day contract per academic year) Position Location: Fort Morgan, CO PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB: The Director of the PTA Program manages the program in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Morgan Community College. The individual serves in both an administrative position and faculty position. The Program Director is responsible for administrative and fiscal management of the PTA program, marketing, and recruitment, mentoring part-time instructors/faculty, accreditation compliance, revising program layout and delivery as appropriate to expand the program, and other duties as assigned by the Dean of General Education and Health Sciences and/or the Vice President of Instruction. The Director will also be responsible for teaching, advising, recruiting and outreach to the communities served by MCC. Instructional content will cover a variety of courses within the PTA program. As a faculty member, this position is responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course. The new faculty member will be dynamic, creative and committed to teaching excellence, and have a passion for continuous improvement and assessment of student learning. Teaching assignments may be comprised of alternative delivery settings which include synchronous, on-line, evening and weekend offerings. A commitment to experiential education to inspire student engagement and success is expected. The Director of the PTA Program shall perform all duties while promoting opportunities for inclusion, expressing the valuing of differences, and regularly demonstrating the college's commitment to its Guiding Principles of integrity, respect, open and honest communication, and collaboration. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from a physical therapist program. Unrestricted Licensed Physical Therapist or Certified Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Colorado. Minimum of five years of (or equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience within any US jurisdiction. Experience in administration/management in the healthcare and/or educational field. Minimum of two years of clinical practice experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy OR a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program. Experience in or intent to obtain experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment, including the equivalent of nine credits of coursework in educational foundations per CAPTE requirements. Teaching experience in a post-secondary, clinical or community setting. Must possess or be able to obtain a Colorado Career and Technical Education Credential. Provide evidence of effective leadership including communication, planning, fiscal management, and evaluation. Strong technological skills and experience in using the MS Office suite, Zoom and Learning Management Systems. Occasional long and irregular hours necessitated by special projects, compliance with deadlines, length of institutional day and week and committee service. Ability to travel to various clinical sites across Colorado. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctor of Physical Therapy. Documented knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults and teaching methodology as well as curriculum development and evaluation. Knowledge and/or experience in the areas of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy. Member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Knowledge and experience with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education process and requirements for program accreditation. Documented experience in clinical and/or program administration, fiscal management, and/or supervisory experience. Verifiable experience understanding and applying educational theory and methodology, identifying, and promoting student outcomes, implementing assessment tools in a variety of teaching areas such as academic, clinical, continuing education and in-service. Experience with distance education. Demonstrated success in working with students from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Anticipated Start Date: January 2023 Salary and Benefits: $50,945-$64,235 base for 167-day contract per academic year. This position is a 207-day contract per academic year, resulting in a final annual salary range of $63,147-$79,621. Salary is based on education, skills, and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental insurance, vision, LTD & benefit package in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies.
