St. Mary's Catholic School is seeking energetic and motivated substitute teachers to work with students at all levels, from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. The best candidate for substitute teacher jobs have a bachelor's degree and enjoy working with children. They are flexible and have some sort of educational experience. Official experience and/or state teaching license is good, but we welcome those with informal experience as well. Successful candidates will have to undergo a background check and Ethic and Integrity training.Responsibilities and Duties:*Follow regular teacher's lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency, optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.*Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans.*Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students.*Communicate effectively with parents when needed.*Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.*Maintain a well-managed classroom and safe, positive learning environment.*Supervise students out of the class such as in the hallways, in the cafeteria and at recess.*Create lesson plans, grade classwork, homework and tests and attend parent-teacher conferences (only for long-term sub assignments).*Completes other duties as assigned.
