A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE MACHINIST As a Maintenance Machinist, you ensure optimal performance by not only repairing our production machinery but also prescribing and executing a preventative maintenance plan for all our equipment. You assist operators in determining the root cause of mechanical issues and propose solutions. Depending on the problem, you may order maintenance materials and supplies from third parties or manufacture replacement parts yourself. You are a key part of our operation because you keep our equipment in great condition and solve problems for our operators. Collaborating with our team, you troubleshoot issues and research solutions, then use your expertise in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical repairs to get our equipment up and running again. You get satisfaction from solving challenging problems and ensuring we are always operating at our best! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MAINTENANCE MACHINIST 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2 to 3 years of maintenance experience Journeyman machinist license Ability to operate or quickly learn the operation of precision centerless grinding and Swiss screw machines (Escomatics) Ability to read and understand detailed blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge, including welding and pipe fitting Ability to diagnose mechanical problems Proficiency with inspection equipment, including micrometers, indicating micrometers, profilometers, and roundness gauges High school diploma or equivalent Willingness to work some holidays and overtime as necessary Do you work well in a team-based, collaborative environment? Can you follow instructions with accuracy and attention to detail? Are you capable of taking initiative and working independently? Can you clearly communicate complicated technical information?
