It's a great time to work in Pflugerville! The City of Pflugerville is offering Swim Instructor Aides a one-time Longevity Bonus of up to $500, payable at the end of the season! We also have a referral program. We are seeking our next Swim Instructor Aide to join our team! The person we seek will believe in and exhibit the City's P.F.I.R.S.T. core values: P ositive, F orward-thinking, I ntegrity, R esilience, S ervice, and T eamwork. As a Swim Instructor Aide for the City, you will be teaching various levels of the City Swim Lesson Program to participants ages 6 months and older, to ensure swimmers are learning water safety, proper swim technique, and increasing their abilities. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Prepare swim lesson plans and adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of the participants. Adequately cover all skills required for a given level. Ensure the safety of facility patrons. Regularly and respectfully interact with parents and/or participants to provide feedback. Other duties as assigned by supervision/management. If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the ability to effectively supervise groups of children, swim comfortably in up to 6 feet of water, and have excellent organizational skills. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: Must be at least 14 years old by the time swim instruction begins and be able to attend Water Safety Instructor Training. Must possess a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or be able to complete certification.
