Monument Chemical in Brandenburg, KY is seeking qualified candidates for an Automation & Digitalization Engineer.DUTIES Ensure compliance with local legal regulations and legislation. Participate in process hazard analysis; support and implement corresponding action items. Monitor, create, manage, support tools to avoid, identify, control, block cyberattacks to plant infrastructure. Responsible by plant process automation (DCS, controllers, software, batch sequences, updates, etc.) Improve processes through DCS improvements (new batch recipes, interlocks) and new technologies. Coordinate and execute trainings to plant employees in his/her area of expertise. Execute/monitor Continuous Improvement Programs in performance, costs, quality, safety. Develop, maintain batch recipes, DCS, SIS programs and define, install needed upgrades. Create and maintain all automation documentation; ensure proper utilization of Management of Change. Develop and maintain functional description/control logic/interlocks. Ensure high levels of availability for automation installations (DCS, SIS, servers, DCS network) Responsible for DCS/SIS system integrity, modifications, software configuration. Coordinate preventative maintenance and tests for automation systems (including field instrumentation) Provide safety, technical and functional leadership for capital projects per Monument Chemical guidelines including scope definitions, budget estimates and approvals and execution of scope, schedule and cost along with closure. Support development and maintenance of engineering specifications and standards. Support I&E technicians on installation and maintenance of control equipment and associated wiring and instrumentation. Define new automated ways of executing tasks via technology (advanced manufacturing) Develop, configure, manage, support digital tools and software to improve plant performance. Lead contractors, programmers, engineers, technicians during developing of digital tools. Identify, research, deploy new digital tools aiming plant performance improvement. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors in Chemical, Electrical, Automation or Controls Engineering or careers related to software development/engineering or proven experience in similar positions for several years. Minimum of 5 years' experience in production/engineering/maintenance role in chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment. Working understanding of chemical industry safety standards. Experience and familiarity with DCS systems preferred. Specific experience with Emerson Provox and Delta V, and PI data historian desirable. Working knowledge and understanding of control equipment including control valves, flow/pressure/temperature meters, pumps, interlocks, etc. Demonstrated ability to master specific instrument knowledge. Desire and ability to become expert in the field of process automation and control. Knowledge of field instrumentation, computer servers and network installation/configuration. Ability to work in an on-call capacity for plant troubleshooting and emergencies. Logical thinking. Ability to learn quick and deal with the most variable types of software and hardware. Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize. This is an individual contributor position with significant independence. Good organizational, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability. Internal customer oriented (develop solutions to other departments, improve their processes) Understanding of government regulations and impact on day-to-day operations in a chemical manufacturing facility.
