Position Summary: Boonsboro Country Club is a family-oriented country club located in Lynchburg Virginia. Boonsboro is a beautiful club with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where we provide premier service to our Members and Guests with a smile. We are seeking energetic and outgoing individuals to join our team for Aquatic / Pool Lifeguards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities. Duties involve all swimming pool operations, including first aid, public relations, janitorial duties, limited pool maintenance including daily chemical analysis/testing, pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms & concession stand area, and all other duties as necessary or required. This employee should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. This is a working position requiring weekend and holiday work. Examples of work (essential functions) Chemical analysis and application Track pool attendance Insure proper operating condition of all equipment Handle first aid problems Maintain discipline at the swimming pool facility Enforce the Boonsboro Country Club Swimming Pool rules and regulations to members and guests Maintain positive public relations at the swimming pool Reports all problems and accidents to the Manager and Head Lifeguard immediately. Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, trash picked up in and outside of the facility, and pool vacuumed as needed Set a positive example Inform the Manager and Head Lifeguard when supplies are needed and if equipment needs repaired Check all gates and doors at closing time Meet with Manager and Head Lifeguard as needed and provide information concerning pool operations Other duties as deemed necessary or as required. Education & Experience: Must have Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR/AED & First Aid Certification. Age: Must be sixteen years of age or older. Skills: The ability to follow department policies and procedures and to concentrate on tasks in the presence of distractions. This employee should have excellent organizational, public relation, oral and written communication skills. Employee will be trained to operate equipment properly. Problem Solving: Problem solving is a factor in this position. The employee encounters problems answering questions and concerns of the members and guests who may be dissatisfied with policies and procedures. Accountability: Employee is responsible for working scheduled shifts. Employee must be punctual. Supervision: The Manager and Head Lifeguard provides supervision and job-related decisions. Personal Relations: Daily contact with the members, guests, co-workers, supervisory personnel, and other departments are expected Working Conditions: Manual labor is required. Extreme weather conditions and working with chemicals are factors in this position. Physical Requirements: Physical exertions to manually move, lift, carry, or push heavy objects. Climbing in and out of the swimming pool, up and down ladders.
