Position Summary The Finance Department Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Finance Department with a specific focus on reviewing and increasing accuracy and efficiency within the Department. Essential Functions Responsible for overseeing and reviewing key functions of the Finance Department, likely including: Wire Transfers SEC Reporting Internal Management reporting and external regulatory reporting (i.e. Call Reports, Y-9s, Y-6s, Y-8s, etc.) Loan accounting Deposit accounting Accounts Payable Fixed Asset accounting Investment accounting CDARS accounting Required GUDPA and State of NJ filings Weekly FR 2900 regulatory filings Weekly deposit reporting Daily tasks such as the department's journal entries, Accounts Payable check runs, cash management summary, coin and currency transactions, etc. Daily out of balance and non-post corrections All daily and monthly reconcilements for the Bank and its subsidiaries Quarterly Sales and Use Tax filings Annual Escheatment to the State of NJ Vendor Management due diligence Auditor communication Accounting policy adherence Other adhoc responsibilities Additional Functions Perform other general accounting functions, assisting or acting as a backup for the following: Preparation of miscellaneous reconcilements each month-end Assisting with the monthly close Act as a secondary back-up to the outgoing and incoming wire function General ledger maintenance and journal entries (includes opening and deleting accounts, and daily posting of finance journal entries) Update FMS 3211 Reports as needed Train, mentor, coach and develop staff members Job Requirements and Qualifications CPA preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required. Minimum 5 years accounting experience. Banking and regulatory/SEC reporting experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications N/A Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Fiserv System. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and reporting of financial data. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including proficiency in Word and Excel. Excellent math skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Ability to effectively present and communicate information and respond to inquiries from senior management, departments, auditors, and other third parties. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to apply common sense logic and critical thinking to solve problems and make sound judgments and decisions. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Ability to provide direct supervision to subordinate staff members. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for long periods of time over 75% of work hours. Ability to use hands to grasp, handle or feel. Ability to use computer keyboard and system to enter data and process information. Ability to talk, listen and see. Ability to use telephone to communicate with internal and external individuals. Working Conditions Moderate sound as in business office with office machines, computers, and people traffic.
