barista Job Summary We are a local, family-owned, and operated coffee & gelato shop and proud members of the Brigantine Restaurants. We aren't just serving coffee & gelato; we are building loyal fans! As a barista on our team, you will contribute to achieving Our Mission, Every Guest Leaves Happy, through our 3 ingredients to success: Hospitality, Efficiency, & Consistency. We are privileged to partner with local coffee roasting company, Café Moto, who only produces Certified Organic, Kosher, & Fair-Trade coffees including our very own Portside and Brigantine coffee blends. We also make all our own gelato and sorbet with only natural ingredients. Key Responsibilities: Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a smile, eye contact, and genuine hospitality. Focus on quality and take pride in your work . Maintain a positive demeanor in a busy environment where multi-tasking, cleaning, and effective communication are requirements Prepare hand-crafted beverages and gelato for our guests. Operate a cash register, coffee brewing equipment, and interact with a high-volume of guests while assisting them with their orders in a fast-paced environment. Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements throughout your daily work. You will assist with cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas, tools, and equipment. Communicate with team members and management to solve problems and improve service . Requirements: Carry a friendly, energetic, personable demeanor and have a passion for great guest service. Exhibit a strong focus on quality with an interest in learning more about coffee. Enjoy working in a team-environment and building great relationships with their coworkers. Be extremely reliable and punctual. Must be upbeat, outgoing, and positive. Ability to stand/walk and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts. Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe. Must be able to carry trays or supplies (up to 25 lbs.) Food Handler Certification. Benefits: Part-time and full-time positions available.
