Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a Quality Engineer at our Ridgeway, SC location. THE ROLE The Quality Engineer Intern will be exposed to various quality and continuous improvement activities such as documenting process flow, implementing 5S and lean techniques and making process improvements to existing systems, and prevent recurring customer complaints and breakdowns in the quality system. The QE Intern will also learn laboratory testing techniques to evaluate and assess the quality of products coming through our processes. This combined experience will give the intern a robust understanding of quality engineering from compliance to operational applications. WHO WILL LOVE THIS JOB? An analytical problem solver , you go beyond just fixing to identify root causes, evaluate optimal solutions, and recommend comprehensive upgrades to prevent future issues. TOP RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizing root cause analysis and lean tools to reduce waste Participate in efforts to reduce customer complaints. Apply statistical methods/analysis to improve process capability, reduce process variation and achieve breakthrough performance. Contribute to problem-solving efforts to improve and eliminate waste-reduced costs of poor quality. Provide technical and engineering support on an ongoing basis to process teams and other areas as needed. Learn the LPA process and conduct process audits to evaluate compliance to existing standards and policies. QUALIFICATIONS Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (Science or Engineering) Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft Suite, with emphasis on Word and Excel Basic skills with Statistics and lean principles A passion for problem-solving and making a positive impact on operations Desire to learn and develop leadership skills, drive and implement improvements, and engage in cross-functional teams to execute new ideas.
