Credentialing Specialist Illinois Orthopedic Network, LLC, IL is seeking to hire a full-time Credentialing Specialist to meet our growing medical staff credentialing requirement and ensure the continued growth of the organization. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN CREDENTIALING SPECIALIST As a Credentialing Specialist, you are directly involved in ensuring that we deliver accurate and timely physician credentialing through teamwork. You ensure credentialing records are maintained in a manner compliant with the ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of JCAHO. You are highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for great customer service. Additionally, you get to assist both internal and external clients with the credentialing process and status inquiries. You respond timely to inquiries to acknowledge receipt and set expectations on completing requests. You ensure protocols laid out by the company are followed in the credentialing process. Responsibilities Initiates and maintains Credentialing files for all Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Nurses Tracks physician appointment and reappointment deadlines, and keeps all physicians active and up-to-date without disruption Works with the accounting department to process appropriate fees, membership dues, and license application fees Provides education and orientation for new providers for the credentialing process Ensures credentialing functions meet applicable JCAHO "Point of contact" for associates, physicians, Medicare and state licensing representatives, supplying time-sensitive information in an organized fashion Expedites the credentialing process with hospitals, surgery centers, state and federal agencies, malpractice providers, and all payers Maintains computer files, utilizing spreadsheet and database applications. (Credentialing software or Excel preferred.) Knowledge of credentialing processes in a healthcare setting Excellent computer skills including, Credentialing software, Google Drive/Applications, Adobe Editing products, Microsoft Office, and database creation Ability to act diplomatically and confidentially while maintaining good customer relations with vendors, physicians, and supervisors Must be organized QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree or Certification Experience in physician credentialing Knowledge of medical terminology Excellent organizational and time-management skills Great communication and phone etiquette skills Proficient computer literacy ABOUT ILLINOIS ORTHOPEDIC NETWORK Illinois Orthopedic Network (ION) is an orthopedic practice specializing in workers' compensation and personal injuries.
