The program is designed to address the safety and wellbeing of children in high-risk families throughout the borough of the Bronx when a caretaker or child's substance use, or mental health disorder places the child at risk of foster care placement or replacement. The Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor will assess and offer social supports to families in the prevention programs. Some responsibilities include assessing all new prevention program intakes within 30 days of the case disposition using ACS mandated assessment and screening tools; maintaining an Excel tracking of assessments and screenings; actively participates in case supervisions to ensure screenings and assessments findings are processed with the planning team; m akes diligent efforts to meet face to face contact requirements with families during the initial treatment. TEMPORARILY HYBRID: 2 days on-site, additional days as needed programmatically. Requirements : BA Degree in Human Services, MSW Preferred CASAC Certification or CASAC T Fluency in Spanish required Required to travel throughout the borough of the Bronx and to other CMCS locations CMCS offers an excellent, comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, generous paid time off, in-service training, flexible work schedules, and competitive salaries.
