YOUR ROLE Project Architect is a role that is responsible for managing architecture projects, mentoring colleagues, and assisting with business development for the Architecture discipline. This team member also contributes to research, programming, schematic design, design development, creating construction documents, and construction administration. PROJECT ARCHITECT Collaborate with client, colleagues, and consultants for successful initiation of projects though construction completion Consult with clients to plan and design various projects such as commercial, retail, industrial, education, civic, multi-family residential, office buildings, government facilities, etc. Manage project, client and construction contracts and budgets Oversee project construction and plan design compliance Develop client relationships in support of business development and securing new project opportunities WHY YOU'D LOVE THIS JOB You seek opportunities that achieve bottom line results for both clients and the company You enjoy a position that allows you flexibility to design and build solutions for clients that impact our local communities You can engage team members in challenging projects and mentor them in their development You like the responsibility that comes from working with a team of business professionals in a fast-paced environment You are driven by integrity, quality, and industry-leading strategies You value a fun working environment that helps you succeed WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture with North Dakota registration, or the ability to obtain license upon employment, with at least 10 years of successful post-graduate design and consulting experience You have strong technical skills and production experience using AutoCAD (required) and Revit (preferred) and implement those skills into the production of construction documents You have solid knowledge of construction materials, standards and costs and use these skills on the jobsite You have strong communication and conceptual design skills; fluency in SketchUp, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator is preferred You have successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills You advocate proactively for the field of Architecture and enjoy sharing knowledge, presenting and encouraging students to explore it as a career You have a strong background in writing specifications JOB RESPONSIBILITIES You plan layouts in accordance with environmental, safety, or other regulations and integrate sustainable elements into unified design for client review and approval You research and prepare information regarding specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and construction time You provide strategic and operational insight in the development of architectural processes and design standards. You regularly apply knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes and building materials You perform predesign services, such as feasibility studies, building surveys, or building assessments You live the Ackerman-Estvold values (Family, Fun, Community, Quality, Forward-Thinking, Integrity and Clients) in a way that adds to our culture and organizational "mojo" A BIT MORE INFORMATION This position is located in our Williston office; however occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may need to be penciled in Must love flexible working hours and free coffee Must love Fun Shirt Fridays, Potlucks, Birthday Celebrations and Community Involvement If you feel you meet these qualifications, work well in a fast-paced team environment, and enjoy a challenge, apply today!
