Position Summary: The Machine Operator will assist with various general machine shop tasks and support different jobs in the shop to help keep the flow of work going. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, and with proper training, operate and tend machines used to process components Deburr machined parts and spot check parts against predetermined tolerances using various measuring tools/equipment such as micrometers and calipers Work from process sheets, blueprints, or other written/verbal instructions given by the supervisor to perform production tasks Perform daily cleaning and light maintenance of machinery and shop area Effectively handle various objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Follow company operating procedures, safety rules and practices Any additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Average math skills, simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day US Citizen or permanent resident Preferred: General knowledge of, and experience with, hand and power tools; Desire to learn about machine shop operations and precision machining practices; Previous entry level experience operating conventional and CNC Lathes, Mills, Drills and Saws Sonatech is an EEO/AA/Disability/Vets Employer.
